Anna Peterson, age 101, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 25th, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 2nd, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Saturday, April 1st, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com. Anna Marie Peterson was born on September 19, 1915 near Erskine, Minnesota to parents Nils and Theoline Bohn Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed at what was at the time, the "new" Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Anna was among the first to be baptized and confirmed in the church. She attended rural school near Erskine and graduated from Erskine High School with the class of 1935. After high school, Anna worked in Minneapolis for several years and then attended teacher's training in East Grand Forks. She taught grades 1-8 at rural schools near Erskine, Winger and Fosston. She lived on the farm until 1965 when she moved into town with her mother. She worked in the grocery store, post office and for Garden Valley until her retirement in 1980. She lived in her house in Erskine until 2008 when she moved to community housing in Erskine. From there she lived in The Country Place and then the Pioneer Memorial Care Center where she has been since November of 2016.Anna loved to travel. In 1956, Anna and Esther and their mother went to Norway by boat and spent three months. Anna and Esther made many trips in the United States and Canada. She also enjoyed driving around with her friends, oil painting, embroidering, flower gardening, reading, and going out to eat. She was a life-long member of Grace Lutheran Church. Anna passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center at the age of 101 years, 6 months and 6 days. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Sharon (Ole) Gray of Cambridge, MN, Rene Peterson of Minneapolis, MN, Shirley Smith of Castro Valley, CA, Dale (Linda) Peterson of Bemidji, Jackie (Linda Holmes) Peterson of Erskine and George Ramberg of Bonney Lake, WA; many great nephews and nieces; and cousins, Ragnhild Bohn (Jorgen) Trandem, Thorleif (Bjorg) Bohn, and Arne Bohn, all of Norway, and Helge and Gerd Bjornson of Sweden.She was preceded in death by her parents, Nils and Theoline; sisters, Cora (Ray) Davis and Esther Peterson; brothers, Carl (Fay) Peterson and Albert (Alice) Peterson; and half sister and brothers, Alma (Kristian) Ramberg, Ernest (Lillian) Peterson, Oscar (Letha) Peterson, and Edgar Peterson.
