Denise Patterson

Denise Patterson, age 59, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Wednesday, December 13th, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20th, at the United Methodist Church in Erskine with the Rev. Michelle Miller officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Denise Ann Brekken Patterson was born on March 31, 1958 in Pekin, North Dakota to parents Truman and Mary Louise Belgarde Brekken. She grew up in the Pekin area and graduated from Pekin High School in 1976. She attended Bemidji State University and graduated with a degree in social work. Denise lived and raised her family in Thief River Falls and Red Lake Falls. While in Thief River Falls, she worked at Arctic Cat, Northern Lights and The Lantern. After moving to Red Lake Falls, she worked for Homark Homes where she met her future husband, Gary Patterson.Denise and Gary were married on July 7, 2001 at Bergeson's Nursery near Fertile. After their marriage, they settled in Erskine. Denise was employed at McIntosh Manor and for Home at Heart Care. Within the past year, medical issues forced her to quit working. Denise loved flowers and gardening; she also liked hunting, fishing and enjoying nature and family at their farm north of Erskine.Denise passed away peacefully while in the loving care of her husband at the age of 59 years.Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Erskine; one sister, Jackie Olson of Erskine; six children, Tim (Carissa) Sigdahl of Grand Forks, ND, Raychel Graham of Park Rapids, MN, Ulysses Patterson (Stephanie) of Montana, Kyle Edgar of Thief River Falls, MN, Alisha Anderson of Erskine, MN, and Chad Edgar (Katy) of Erskine; ten grandchildren, Chesney, Jaxson, Ivory, Talon, Link, Meadow, Anthony, Autumn, Ty, and Bayleigh; sister-in-law, Linda (Kenny) Nelson of Erskine. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant grandson; and four siblings, Allan Fassett, Cheryll Fox, George Fassett, and Gilbert Fassett.
