He was raised on a farm near Brooks, Minnesota and attended country school. His mother passed away in 1933 and was raised by his father and step-mother, Ann Agnes Reinbold. John was united in marriage to Eunice Christianson on June 14, 1950 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brooks. To this union, 5 children were born, Robert, Susan, James, Ronald and Pamela. They farmed on John's father's home place until they purchased another farm near Brooks in the mid 50's. In 1962, they built their new home in Brooks, and John continued to farm and for a few years, worked the fall and winter months at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston. In 1972, they sold the farm and moved to Oklee. During these early years, John also worked at Floyd's Appliance in Thief River Falls, Cenex in Oklee, and did area carpentry and mechanic work. John and Eunice moved to Rochester, Minnesota, in 1980, where he worked at St. Mary's Hospital in maintenance. They relocated to Sun City, Arizona and for 18 years worked at Ace Hardware and worked as a handyman on the side. They moved to Fosston in 2003 where John worked part time at Ace Hardware for over five years. In 2015 they moved to Prairie Pines Assisted Living and then to McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh.John was known as a Jack-of-all-trades and a Master of them all. Not only was he a farmer, but he was an inventor, plumber, electrician, carpenter, and master craftsman. If he didn't have a part, tool or piece of equipment that he felt would make things work better or make the job easier, he would build it. John was especially proud of the little 4-wheel drive tractor, a self-propelled crop sprayer, and a sunflower header, all of which he built from scratch. He loved being with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed visiting and playing cards, listening to music, especially Blue grass; hunting, fishing and camping in his earlier years, playing baseball, bowling and he loved to go dancing. He was a member of the Brooks School Board, the National Farmers Organization (NFO) Board, the Brooks Elevator Board, the Brooks church board, and several other area boards. John had a strong Catholic faith and was most recently a member of St. Mary's in Fosston, MN. Survivors include: his wife Eunice, children: Bob (Suzandra) Reinbold of McIntosh MN; Sue (Kenny) Edgar of Thief River Falls, MN; Jim (Lori) Reinbold, of Oklee, MN; Ronnie Reinbold of Montrose, CO; Pam (Jim) Spong of Bemidji, MN. 17 Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Mary; infant sister; his step-mother, Ann; granddaughter, Carmen Stucy; and several sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Honorary Pallbearers: John's grandchildren Active Pallbearers: Eric Reinbold, Shane Brandt, Shaun Brandt, Nathan Pederson, Dave Molesworth, and Andy Anderson.
