Maxine Nelson

Maxine Nelson, age 90, of Lino Lakes, MN and formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 5th, at Lino Lakes Assisting Living. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Jeanne Rains officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, rural Bagley, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Maxine Delores (Paulson) Nelson lived in the Fosston area from her birth on August 13, 1926 until December, 2013, when she moved to the Twin Cities to be near family. Maxine graduated from Fosston High School with the class of 1944. She was married for 60 years to S. Norman Nelson, from December 26, 1945 until his death in 2006.Maxine was a homemaker, a nursing home care provider and worked at Palubicki's bakery. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading and fishing with Norman. Maxine was an excellent cook and baker, specializing in lefse, flatbread and doughnuts. Those knowing Maxine saw her as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was courageous, adjusting to blindness without a single complaint. She worked hard, raising a family through tough economic times. She was kind to all and appreciated her large extended family. Maxine is joining loved ones that have gone before; devoted husband, Norman, son Donald, parents, Caleb and Olga Paulson and brother Wallace Paulson. Survivors that mourn her passing include her children, Gary (Carol) of Prior Lake, Carol Beckerleg of Blaine, Mary of Glendale, AZ and Betty (Richard) Olson of Brighton, CO, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, brother Wayne (Dorothy) Paulson of Fosston, sister-in-law, Sue Paulson of Bumpass, VA and many nieces and nephews.Pallbearers are Maxine's grandchildren, Karla Nelson Rousseau, Mike Nelson, Tina Beckerleg, Christa Nelson, Randina Beckerleg Hemquist, Andy Nelson, Brandon Olson, Nicole Olson Brauer, Patrick Navarre, Cody Olson and Alan Navarre Kaufman.
