Wayne Omundson

Wayne Omundson, age 65, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Sunday, December 25th at his daughters residence near Lengby, MN. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3rd, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Interment will be in Poplar River Cemetery, Fosston, at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Monday, January 2nd, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. Family will also greet friends for on hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Wayne was born in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on December 26, 1950 to parents Iven G. Omundson and Betty M. Foldoe (Omundson) Westberg. Wayne graduated Warren High School in 1969, then pursued his education in food service at Bemidji State University and the University of Minnesota in Crookston, Minnesota. After college he was employed at First Care Medical Services for 32 and a half years until retiring due to medical reasons. On February 19, 1977, he was united in marriage to Diane Sue Kildal at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. To this union, two children, Kristina and Jonathan were born. Wayne was actively involved in Hope Lutheran Church as well as numerous civic, fraternal, and cultural organizations that involved serving people. On Sunday December 25, 2016 Wayne passed away at the age of 65 years. He survived by his wife, Diane of Fosston; one daughter Kristina (Bruce) Klicker of Lengby, MN; one son, Jonathan (Tiffany) Omundson of Erskine, MN; six grandchildren Brandon, Grace, and Conner Klicker and Scott, Faith, and Hope Omundson; one sister, Carolyn (Rodney) Jorgenson of Warren, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant daughter; his parents, Iven Omundson and Betty Westberg; step-father, Roy Westberg; and one brother, Rodney Omundson.
