Alice Larson

Alice Larson, age 89 from Erskine, MN passed away on Tuesday, December 2nd at Grand Arbor in Alexandria, MN under the care of hospice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 8th at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the church on Monday morning, and interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent to www.carlinhoialmen.com.Alice Thelma (Satran) Larson was born on March 28, 1925 in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Albert and Thea (Bye) Satran.  She grew up in Fosston and graduated from high school there.  Alice was united in marriage to Gale Larson on July 27, 1946.  Together they started a mink ranch and also farmed.  They moved to Erskine, MN in 1952 when Gale started to work with his father, Oscar, at the American State Bank.Alice was a dedicated wife and mother.  She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and served many years as Ladies Aide President.  She also enjoyed quilting, her knitting machine, as well as fishing and traveling.On Tuesday, December 2, 2014 Alice passed away at Grand Arbor in Alexandria, MN, under the care of hospice, at the age of 89 years.Left to cherish her memory are her sons Jerry (Sandy) Larson of Cold Spring, MN and Michael (Char) Larson of Moorhead, MN;  daughter Vicki (Scott) Johnston of Alexandria, MN;  sister Aggie (John) Cook of Grand Forks, ND;  sister-in-law Maureen Larson of Grand Forks, ND; seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.Alice was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Thea; husband Gale; brother Palmer Satran and wife Violet; sister Bella Munson and husband Russell; and brothers-in-law Roger Larson and Merle Larson and his wife Priscilla. Blessed be her memory.
