Anna Underdahl

Anna Underdahl, age 68, of Fosston and formerly from Fertile, MN passed away on Wednesday, August 1st at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 9th at 11:00 AM at Little Norway Lutheran Church, rural Fertile with Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment of cremains will be at the church cemetery and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements.Anna Marie Underdahl was born on May 2, 1939 to parents Arthur and Alvina (Olson) Underdahl at Crookston, Minnesota.She moved with her parents from Fertile to Fosston, Minnesota in 1944 and attended Willow Grove Country School and graduated from Fosston High School in 1957.Anna enlisted in the Womens Army Corp (WAC) in late 1957 and served four enlistments. She then worked for USDA in St. Paul, before returning home to the farm. In 1979, she moved with her parents to Fertile, worked at Fair Meadow Nursing Home until 2001 and cared for her parents.Anna led a quiet life, but enjoyed bowling, gardening, rummage sales and took a few trips in her leisure years.On Wednesday, August 1, 2007 Anna passed away at First Care Hospital in Fosston at the age of 68 years.Survivors include her brother, Oran (Bonnie) Underdahl of Fosston; niece, Sarah (Tom) Stienbrenner and their son, Ben of Fosston; niece, Kris Wicklund and her children Jaris and Katie of Massachusetts; nephew, Robin (Jessica) Mahto of Minneapolis; aunt, Elna Vavrina of Las Vegas; and numerous cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Geri Underdahl.
