Archie "Bud" Rinkenberger, age 87, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday (October 19th) at First Care Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (October 25th) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (October 24th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Archie "Bud" Ray Rinkenberger was born on November 22, 1925 in Hazel-Thief River Falls area to William and Rose (Wenger) Rinkenberger. Bud was the 4th out of 9 children and attended country school in the Hazel area until the family moved to Fosston in 1941. He was united in marriage to Ruth "Thelma" Gunderson on June 24, 1952 at Kingo Lutheran Church by Rev. C.M. Johnson. They purchased their farm north of Fosston at that time. Bud and Thelma farmed until 1999 when they sold their farm and moved into Fosston in the spring of 2000.Bud enjoyed hunting, trapping, ice fishing, dancing, Polka music, gardening, playing cards, making lefse, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing Crazy Rummy, and spending time with his family and friends.He was a member of Kingo Lutheran Church, served on the Land O' Lakes Co-op Board, served as Treasurer of Brandsvold Township Board, and volunteered at the Fosston Embassy.Bud passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the First Care Medical Center in Fosston with his family at his side.Survivors include his wife Ruth "Thelma" of 61 years; daughter-in-law Kathy Rinkenberger of Ankeny IA; 3 sons, Arlen (Judy) of Bemidji MN, Steven (Melanie) of Barnesville MN, and William of Claremont MN; and daughter Amy (Randy) Kircher of Bemidji MN. 7 grandsons; Gerod, Robert, Brian, Sean, Joseph, Benjamin, and Samuel; 3 great-grandchildren; Mollie, Macyn, and Cooper. Brothers; Harvey "Jack", Roger (Janice) and Darrel (Norma) all of Fosston. Sisters: Pearl Birkeland of Fosston, Lorraine (Richard) Jensen of Alexandria MN, Doris Hove, and Eleanor (Curtis) Paulson both of Fosston.
