Arnold Syverson, age 78, of Trail, MN, passed away on Friday (April 26th) at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 1st) at Vernes Lutheran Church, rural McIntosh with Pastor Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday (April 30th) and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. All visitation will be held at Vernes Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Arnold Theodore Syverson was born on December 14, 1934 in Hill River Township, Minnesota to parents Theodore and Linda (Christianson) Syverson. He was baptized and confirmed at Vernes Lutheran Church. He grew up in Hill River Township and attended the Lindsay country school through the eighth grade. Arnold married Constance "Conne" Fischer on September 2, 1961 at Vernes Lutheran Church. They had four children, Gayle, Deanna, Daniel, and Gerry. They lived and raised their children on the home farm. Arnold worked in the McIntosh Co-op, Oklee Midland, the Gully fertilizer plant, and Northern Sand and Gravel, retiring in 1999. Arnold had been a resident at McIntosh Senior Living since August of 2010.Arnold loved his family. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews were very important to him. He loved to hunt, fish, and travel. He always had a story to tell (usually not real truthful). He will be dearly missed.Survivors include his wife, Conne of Trail; four children, Gayle (Lonnie) Tofstad of Henderson, NV, Deanna Heinen of Skime, MN, Daniel "Booner" Syverson of Mukwonago, WI, and Gerry (Maureen) Syverson of Henderson, NV; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, Ben (Kristi) Tofstad & children-Will and Brook; Ron (Nancy) Tofstad & children-Isabel, Zachary and Jacob; Kristina Leigh & children-Brett and Makenzie; Travis Shimpa; Brian (April) Shimpa & children-Lillian, Shelby, and Hannah; Ryan, Nicholas, and Makayla Syverson; Rafe & children-Amy and Amanda; Bryant; Skylan; Lisa (Robert) Bannert & children-Collin and Devan; John Heinen, Jr. & children-Ryan and John III.Also surviving are six siblings, Ruby Heideman of McIntosh, Ardell (Lloyd) Opdahl of Oklee, MN, Entrip (Sharon) of Lakeville, MN, Bernice (Jerome) Voxland of McIntosh, Gloria (Mark) Morque of Lebanon, MO, and Viola (Richard) Georgeson of Hillsboro, ND; sisters-in-law, Corky Syverson of McIntosh, and Delores Syverson of Fosston; brothers-in-law, Rueben Brekke of McIntosh, and Morris Hendrickson of Trail; father-in-law, Cliff Fischer of McIntosh; and nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Floyd, Verna, Lorraine, Eleanora, and Karsten; twin siblings, Morris and Doris; brother-in-law, Curtis Heideman; son-in-law, John Heinen; and mother-in-law, Alice Fischer.
