Dana Harrington, age 77, of Fosston, MN and formerly of Bejou, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 18th, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2nd, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Pastor Jim Binder officiating. Interment will be in Vermont Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Randolph Center, VT. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday (2nd) at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the White Earth Honor Guard and the Army National Guard Honors Team. Dana Leonard Harrington was born in Montpelier, Vermont, on December 20, 1946, to Dana Leonard Harrington and Grace Cooley Robinson Harrington, the third of four children. He was raised and educated in Waterbury, Vermont, graduating from Waterbury High School in 1964.

Dana enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served as a Huey helicopter door gunner and crew chief. Later military service took him from the Vermont National Guard to the Alaska National Guard.

He was father to three children: Sean Harrington, Todd Harrington, and Nancy Harrington Marx.

Dana was a man of many interests, skills, and passions including military service and history, gunsmithing, and antique gun collecting and trading, falconry, motorcycling, restoring classic cars, woodworking and metal turning, listening to music, cooking, and tinkering. Dana could fix and build just about anything. In past years, Dana was active in Patriot Guard Riders, White Earth Reservation Honor Guard, Christian Motorcyclists Association, and the Harley Owners Group.

Dana was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Harrington, brother-in-law Robert Bordeaux, niece Debra Bordeaux and nephew Brian Harrington.

He is survived by his children Sean (Josephine), Todd (Cathy), and Nancy; grandchildren Joseph (Emily), Dana (Hanna/Pluto), Tessa, Aiden, Sydney, Clara and Nolan; great-granddaughter Emerson; sister Elizabeth Bordeaux, brother Charles (Cecelia) Harrington; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and many friends.

At a later date, inurnment will take place at the Vermont Veteran's Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont, and the Pine Ridge Cemetery near Saum, Minnesota.

Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Color Guard, the Patriot Guard, and the White Earth Reservation Honor Guard.
