In loving memory and with heavy hearts we announce that David “Dave” Faldet, age 72, peacefully journeyed into the arms of the Lord on November 30th, 2023 at home surrounded by the love of his family.

Dave was born on December 10th, 1950 to Anton and Alvina Faldet in Fosston, MN.  He graduated from McIntosh High School in 1969.  After high school he went to Thief River Falls Technical College and earned a degree in carpentry.  Shortly after that, he entered the Army and served in Germany from 1971-1973. When he returned to the McIntosh area he purchased a farm, where he had cattle and did carpentry. On December 9th, 1977, he married the love of his life Diane, and together they had 2 sons Ben and Joe.  He continued to grow his construction business and raise cattle for 48 years.

Dave is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Faldet, who shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love with him. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of true partnership and companionship. Dave took immense joy in his role as a father to his sons Ben and Joe. He took great pride in seeing them grow into the men they are today. His guidance, love, and unwavering support shaped the foundation of their lives. In addition to his sons and their wives Mandy and Kirsten, he leaves behind 7 grandchildren that were the apple of his eye.

Dave dedicated a lifetime of hard work to ensure the well-being of his family, running his construction company and often inspiring others to start their own businesses.  He was a great teacher and mentor to many. When he wasn’t working on the business he could be found improving his land, raising cattle, having coffee with his friends, volunteering at church, hunting, and fishing. Dave loved the Lord and always lead by example.  His dedication to these aspects of his life defined him and created a legacy that will endure for generations. His warm smile and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Alvina Faldet, and sister in-law Cathy Faldet.  He is survived by his wife, Diane, of McIntosh his sons Ben (Mandy) Faldet of Bagley, MN, Joe (Kirsten) Faldet of Saint James, MN, brother Steve (Barb) Faldet of McIntosh, MN, sister Susan (Tim) Johnson of Mentor, MN, brother Tommy of Ingram, TX, grandchildren Kyla, Nyah, Kiera, Kami, Anton, Rachel and Soren, and several nieces and nephews.
