Deloris Jane (Nordlund) Heide was born in Bagley, Minnesota on February 23, 1937, to parents George and Myrtle (Myhre) Nordlund. She grew up on a farm in rural Clearbrook, Minnesota, the oldest of six children. She was baptized and confirmed at Oak Park Lutheran Church. As a young girl, she walked several miles a week to take piano lessons. She played the piano and organ for numerous churches. She graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1955 where she was active in Glee Club. She attended a year at a Bible college in the Cities and returned to Clearbrook. There she met her future husband, Marvel Heide. They wed in 1956 at Cross Lake Lutheran Church and moved to Fosston where they dairy farmed. Through this marriage of 67 years they raised six children. Deloris was a hard-working farm wife along with being very active in her church. She played organ and piano, taught Sunday School, Friday School, Vacation Bible School and was a member of the St. Paul Ladies Aid and the VFW Auxiliary.

In September of 1994, she suffered a debilitating brain aneurism which caused her to lose her speech and limited her mobility. Despite this, she continued to make the best of it with a smile on her face, cooking, making homemade bread, jellies, and canning that she liked to give away. While eventually becoming wheelchair bound, she still continued to care for Marvel until his passing in 2024.

She will be remembered for the sweet affection she gave to her friends, family and caregivers.

Deloris is survived by sons, Darrel (Jody) Heide of Lengby, MN, Brian (Tammy) Heide of Moorhead, MN and Miles Heide of Fairmont, MN; daughters, Valerie (Darrel) Borth of Bagley, MN and Rynell (Bruce) Murphy of Fosston, MN; daughter-in-law, Sheila Heide of Park Rapids, MN; sisters, Janet (Gary) Bjerke of Clearbrook, MN and Beverly Skarsten of Fosston, MN; and sister-in-law, Frankie Nordlund of Alabama. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by many.
