Donald DeGroat, Sr.

Donald DeGroat, Sr., age 67, passed away on Monday, October 23^rd, in Mahnomen. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 29^th, at the White Earth Tribal Community Center in White Earth, MN. A visitation will be held at the Community Center on Saturday, October 28^th beginning at 7:00 p.m. and continuing until the time of the service on Sunday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, White Earth. Military Honors will be provided by the White Earth Honor Guard. Donald Eugene DeGroat Sr. Started his journey on October 23rd 2023.

He was born in Minneapolis on February 23 1956 to Donald Harrison DeGroat and Bernice June (St.Clair) DeGroat.

He attended many schools in his youth. After graduating he became a father with   to his first born daughter Shenoah and joined the marines.

Shortly after returning home from his service he met Lorraine Baity fell in love and got married. Together they had 9 children.

He loved working hard for his family. He had many jobs in his lifetime but his favorite job was being a professional and commercial window washer in the Twin Cities. He also had a passion for working on cars. He loved hanging out with family and close friends. Playing dice, watching sports, and singing and dancing.

He will be missed dearly by all who loves him.

He is survived by his 10 children. Shenoah Reed,

Catherine DeGroat, Constance DeGroat (Phillip Shaw),Carolyn Sommers (Glenn) Donald DeGroat Jr(Anessa), Candice DeGroat, Cassondra Vizenor, Douglas DeGroat, Corina Thomas, and Dion DeGroat (Nikki). 39 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

3 sisters Dorothy DeGroat, Michelle Horejsh, and Barbara Giles and 2 brothers Timothy DeGroat and Norman DeGroat.

He was preceded in Death By his grandparents. His Parents. 2 sisters Debbie DeGroat and Penny DeGroat and 1 brother Floyd (Fritz) DeGroat.
