Elisabeth "Liz" Stuhaug, age 95, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 28th, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Michael Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Bagley City Cemetery in the spring. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning at the church. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Erskine and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.Elisabeth Rebecca Vilmo Stuhaug was born on September 23, 1924 in Ada, Minnesota to parents William and Alvina (Stehr) Vilmo. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended country school, and graduated. Elisabeth was united in marriage to Sidney Stuhaug on September 6, 1942. To this union, four children were born, Ken, Chuck, Keith, and Janelle. They raised their children in Glyndon and Erskine, Minnesota. Liz lived in Bagley where she and Sid had moved prior to his death in April of 1979. Liz loved to work and enjoyed lively conversations and relationships with many customers. In 1997 Liz retired and moved out to Union Lake to be close to her children and grandchildren. In 2004 she moved to the Country Place in Erskine where she lived until June of 2018 when she moved to the Pioneer Memorial Care Center. Liz was always appreciative and had fun with the many wonderful caregivers in her life.Liz was a wonderful cook and many have memories of large tables set for guests to enjoy her meals and everyone always wanted her potato salad. She was an expert seamstress and it was normal to have fabric and a variety of patterns laying about. While living in Erskine, she also became skilled with ceramics and has left many of her artistic treasures, the most important one being a full Nativity set. Family and friends were her real joy and she made sure everyone spent holidays and important events together. Lately, playing Bingo was something she looked forward to and you'd think she never won, but we all know different.Her large family is grateful to have had her in their lives for so many important years. Liz passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 95 years.Survivors include two children, Keith (Linda) Stuhaug of Erskine, and Janelle (Eugene "Zeke") Klinke of Erskine; 12 grandchildren; Doug (Angie) Stuhaug, Lisa (Larry) Bellefy, Kris (Darrin) Faldet, Tony (Heidi) Stuhaug, Brenda (Steve) Synhorst, Brian (Lisa) Stuhaug, Angie (Mike) Carlson, Carrie Hoffart, Taylor Klinke, Trevor Klinke, and Will (Mikayla) Klinke; 27 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ann Stuhaug of Two Harbors, MN; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Stuhaug of Twin Valley, MN. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; two children, Ken and Chuck; daughters-in-law, Jan Stuhaug and Juanita Stuhaug; granddaughter, Mary Vall; and brother, Herb (Marie) Vilmo.
