Ella Nordstrom

Ella Nordstrom, age 89 of Erskine, MN peacefully passed away on January 23, 2015 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine. A private burial of cremains will be held at a later date by her family at Saron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erskine. Memorial gifts may be directed to Saron Lutheran Church, rural Erskine, MN and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine assisted the family with the arrangements.Ella Lenora Severson was born to parents Severt and Louise (Floan) Severson at Fertile Minnesota on December 31, 1925. She grew up on the family farm northwest of Fertile until she moved with her parents to a farm in Woodside Township, rural Erskine in the early 1940's.Ella married Melvin Gran in 1946 to which union a son, Lloyd, was born. They resided on the farm in Woodside Township. Melvin passed away in 1951.Ella married Emery Nordstrom in 1961. They farmed north of Erskine. She was an active member of Saron Lutheran Church and also worked at Pioneer Memorial Care Center for a number of years. Emery passed away in 1990. She continued to live on the farm until she moved to assisted living at The Country Place at Erskine in 2013. She resided there until entering Pioneer Memorial Care Center earlier this month.Ella is survived by her son Lloyd (Mary) Gran of Erskine, MN, a grand daughter Sarah (John) Williams of Noblesville, IN. Also surviving are several cousins and nieces and nephews.Ella was preceeded in death by her parents, husbands Melvin and Emery, brothers Carl, Willie, Ed, Ingram and Arnie Severson. Also brother in law, Glenn Nordstrom.
