Elmyra Ramse

Elmyra Ramse, age 98, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Wednesday (December 10th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (December 15th) at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Ryan Rasmussen officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, rural McIntosh. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Elmyra Harriet Petersen was born on October 14, 1910 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of Christian and Ida (Jacobson) Petersen. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Stone Bank, Wisconsin. She attended grade school in Mapleton, Wisconsin and high school in Scandinavia, Wisconsin, graduating in 1930. Elmyra attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she met Art Ramse. They were married September 6, 1941. In 1956, they received a call to Tokio Indian Mission in Tokio, North Dakota Ministry to Minorities. They returned in 1978 and moved to the farm where they spent many happy years. She loved Jesus and wanted to live for Him.Elmyra passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 98 years, one month and 26 days.She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Art of McIntosh; three sons, Ben of McIntosh, Paul (Shirley) of Watertown, SD, and David (Miriam) of Arusha, Tanzania; six grandchildren, Karen, Nathan, Daniel, Joshua, Kayla, and Jonathan.She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alma Olson and Edna Petersen; and twin brother Ellsworth.
