Gertrude Peterson, age 88, from Erskine, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 7th at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 12th at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Erskine. Interment of cremains will be at Grace West Cemetery at Belgrade, MN at a later date and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Sympathy messages may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Gertrude Adelia Nohre was born on April 26, 1919 at Holt, MN to Oliver and Nellie (Ellestad) Nohre. She attended school at Holt and graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1937.On June 15, 1941 she was united in marriage to Glenn T. Peterson. To this union four children were born. They lived in Holt, Erskine and Belgrade, Minnesota. Glenn died on December 29, 1977 and Gertrude moved to Redwood Falls, MN to be near her sister. In 1985, she moved back to Erskine and has resided there since.On Wednesday, November 7, 2007 Gertrude passed away at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN at the age of 88 years.She is survived by four children, Sandy (Al) Nordheim of Erskine, Keith of Eden Prairie, MN, Shirley (Henry) Jensen of Paynesville, MN and Sheila (Chet) Etzler of Staples, MN; nine grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; one sister, Ethel (Robert) Starr of Redwood Falls; one brother, Harold Nohre of Clarissa, MN; and nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn; her parents; one granddaughter, Heidi Clementson; one great grandson, Jacob Larson; and one step great grandson, Aaron Theis.
