Glen Anderson, age 74, of Lengby, MN, passed away on Monday (March 17th) at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (March 21st) at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby, MN with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in Fridhem Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday (March 20th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Spring Lake V.F.W. Post #2759 of Lengby and the National Guard Honors Team. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Glen Edward Anderson, a 100% Swede, was born on August 17th, 1939 to Walter and Esther Lindberg Anderson in Fosston, MN. He attended Laduke Country School in Lengby and Fosston High School. He graduated from Fosston High School in 1956. Glen served in the U.S. Navy from February 1957 to August 1960 as a Structural Aviation Mechanic. Following his service he was employed by Control Data for 3 years and worked in a model shop that built models of computers in sheet metal, at that time computers were as big as a small room. Glen then returned home to Lengby upon the death of his brother and worked with his father in the family business. He married Paulette Jean Brinkman of Bagley on September 14th,1968. Over the next 45 years, they continued the service station business known as Lengby Oil, and raised a family of 4 children. Glen loved his family, friends, customers, and community. He truly enjoyed working in the station, greeting his customers and helping out many in need. Glen was active in the community his entire life. He was a baptize and confirmed member of Fridhem Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Lengby Lions Club, Lengby City Council and Lengby Fire Department. Glen loved living in Lengby and spending his time with all the locals. He enjoyed sheet metal work, fishing, hunting, throwing dice, haying, and running any type of heavy equipment available. He truly loved people and was a dear friend to many. Glen faced many health challenges over the years and over the last 2 months his heart of gold just could not keep up with him. Glen was a wonderful husband to Polly for just over 45 years. He was a caring and supportive father to all of his children throughout their lives. He is survived by his wife, Polly, his 4 children, Teresa Brink (Scott) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Kim Thoresen (Melvin) of Deer River MN, Leigh Hayes (John) of Buffalo, MN, Stacey Templin (Dean) of Silver Lake, MN. Glen has 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Ellie Francis (Dave) and numerous nieces and nephews as well as his German Shepard, Smokey #6. Glen was preceded in death by his parents (Walter and Esther Anderson), one brother (Vernon) a sister Mildred). Nephew Brian, and great nephew Steven, and great, great nephew Anthony. He will be dearly missed by all.Pallbearers: Dave Swanson, Gordy Omodt, Tony Maruska, Jesse Maruska, Danny Straub, Tim Johnson and Bill Thompson.
