Gregory Lorenzo Eck was born on March 27th, 1958 in Virginia, MN to Lorenzo and Opal (Qualley) Eck. He grew up in Hibbing, MN along side is two brothers Mike and Jim and sister Linda. During his early years he enjoyed participating in horse shows and had many trophies for events like pole bending. He was also fond of his motorcycle. Greg graduated from Hibbing High and went on to apprenticeship to become a journeyman lineman. He traveled all over the United States and was very proud of his union, IBEW.
Greg met Connie (Agnes) in November of 1993. They were united in marriage in Las Vegas, NV at the Chapel of Flowers on December 27th, 1996. Together they had no biological children but, were second parents to all of their nieces and nephews. Greg was always happy to have the many kids over to share his love of music and horses. He was always up for mischief and was even known to play ball in the house from time to time, much to Connie's dismay. He adored them all. He also enjoyed taking Connie on vacations. They ventured to the Grand Canyon, Connie's beloved Graceland, Disney World, and many others.
In 1998 Greg and Connie moved back to Lorenzo's home farm in Trail, MN where they would reside permanently. Their home was always known to many as the place to go when you wanted to chat, to get advice, or just to relax and listen to old country music. George Jones was almost always coming through the speakers. Greg never turned anybody down to sit across the table from him. He welcomed all with "need a beer, they're in the fridge." He never questioned anybody intentions. Most would say he had a heart of gold.
Greg is survived by his wife Connie (Agnes), brothers Mike (Chris) and Jim, sister Linda (John), sister-in-law Heidi (Noel), brother-in-law's Kevin, Jerry, and Brian (Kelly), cousin Sandy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his father Lorenzo, mother Opal, father-in-law Vincent, mother-in-law Geraldine, cousin and very special friend Jeff, brother-in-laws Jim, Jimmy, and Dale, and friend Sheldon.
