Harlow "Sandy" Sanstead, Jr., age 86, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Sunday (June 9th) at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Graveside interment and military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (June 20th) at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson, MN. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine.Harlow "Sandy" E. Sanstead, Jr., was born on January 31, 1927, in Hutchinson, MN. He passed away on June 9, 2013, at the Pioneer Care Center, Erskine, MN. Harlow served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946, and possessed an adventurous spirit in business and in life. He owned businesses and built motels in Casper and in Cody, WY; owned a ranch in Clark, WY; operated gold mines in Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Harlow moved to Erskine, MN, with his wife, Reha, in 1987, where they owned and operated the Class Glass antique shop until 2000. He is survived by his wife, Reha; five children: Jack Sanstead, Jerry Sanstead, Ann Friedly, Tom Bradford, and Jamie Mattison; nineteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; cousins: Gordon, June, Barbara, and Buzzy; and life-long friends: Leonard Taylor, David Brown, and Charlie Wixey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Harlow Sanstead, Sr., his first wife, Janet, and his uncle Raymond Stadola.
