Harold Green

Harold Green, age 84, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday, January 29th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4th, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Alan Arneson officiating. Interment will be in Duane Cemetery, rural Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Harold Howard Green was born on November 23, 1930 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Melvin and Angeline Vezina Green. He grew up south of Fosston and attended the Steinbrenner School in Heier Township. In May of 1951 he married Irene Erickson of Clearbrook, Minnesota. In their 63 years of marriage they had seven children: Valerie, Bonnie, Pamela, Vicki, Marcy, Steve and Michael. In the early 1960's Harold and Irene relocated to Montana where he worked as a smelter. After returning to the Fosston area, Harold worked in logging, construction, and owned and operated Green's Lakeland Greenhouse. He lived in the Fosston area the majority of his life. Harold liked hunting, fishing and in later years, enjoyed putting together puzzles and making beef jerky for his grandkids. Harold felt the best times of his life were spent with his family, especially his many grandkids. He truly loved the Lord and was saved by His grace. Harold went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston at the age of 84 years. Survivors include his loving wife, Irene of Fosston; their seven children, Valerie (Jim) Sears of Lengby, MN, Bonnie (Kevin) Olson of Winger, MN, Pamela (Andy) Kerssen of Fosston, MN, Vicki (John) Cymbaluk of Fosston, MN, Marcy (Chad) Winter of Fosston, MN, Steve (Cindy) Green of Fosston, MN, and Michael (Janet) Green of Hatton, ND; 30 grandchildren; 76 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Donald (Faye) Green of Helena, MT; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willow (Gerald) Green of Helena, MT. Ida (Pete) Haney of Palmyra, WI, Edna Dukek of Bagley, MN, Bennie (Aileen) Erickson and Ernest (Mavis) Erickson, all of Clearbrook, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Merle (Nancy), Orville (Flora), and Gerald; grandson, Carl Cymbaluk; great granddaughter, Lillian Green; son-in-law, David Reep; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Dukek, Myrtle (Oliver) Eastwood, Leonard, Melvin, Clarence, Edwin, Elmer and Tommy Erickson.Honorary Pallbearer: Carl CymbalukActive Pallbearers: John Hayes, Jeff Halland, Joshua Reep, Jon Cymbaluk, Curt Green, Christofer Sears, Cole Carter.
