Harold Sielert, age 93, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Monday, March 6th, at Essentia First Care Living Center in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10th, at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, March 9th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. There will also be reviewal for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Military honors will be provided by the National Guard Honors Team and arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.Harold Loyd Sielert was born on October 8, 1923 in Morehouse, Missouri to parents Eldon and Sada Masters Sielert. He spent most of his childhood in Oklahoma City, and was drafted during World War II, serving 26 months in the European Theatre. When he received his honorable discharge, Harold joined his parents in Richmond, California where they had moved after he was drafted. There he was employed by Standard Oil Company of California, which is now known as Chevron. During his employment he attended and graduated from Police School. He continued working with Standard Oil until his retirement in 1983, after 38 years. During this time he met and married his wife, Mae, to whom he has been married for 66 years. In 1996 he and his wife moved to Mesa, Arizona. It was here that he enjoyed the many visitors from Minnesota and other states that came to winter there. Harold and Mae moved to Fosston, Minnesota in July of 2014. Harold like woodworking, fishing, bowling, and music. Survivors include his wife, Mae, of Fosston; son, Paul (Margaret) Sielert of Lengby, MN; granddaughter, Jennifer (Jose) Dominguez of Morgan Hill, CA; and a great grandson, DeAngelo Genovia; niece, Connie Brown and nephew, Richard Sielert of California.Also surviving is brother-in-law, Norman (Ruth) Anderson of Fosston; and sisters-in-law, Aldora Anderson and Mavis Anderson, both of Fosston; and several other nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Sada; brother, Chester; and brothers-in-law, Robert and Warren Anderson.
