James McIntosh

James McIntosh, age 63, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.James Clare McIntosh was born on June 18, 1953 to Clarence and Orvilla McIntosh at Eureka, South Dakota. He was raised in the Roscoe, South Dakota area and graduated from Roscoe High School in May 1971. He lived in the Roscoe, Aberdeen and Eureka areas before moving to Minnesota in 1989 where he was a rancher/farmer. He moved back to South Dakota where he was involved in a motor vehicle accident which left him totally disabled and he returned again to Minnesota.Jim had many interests and passions that he pursued in life. He loved horses and the ranching way of life...he was a true cowboy in every way. Over his life he enjoyed raising and training dogs. He loved to hunt and did so whenever he could. Jim always had a dog as a companion and he had recently lost his dog Whiskey. Jim also had a green thumb with a house full of beautiful plants and a yard full of colorful flowers each summer. Of all his passions and loves, his children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and spoke of them often. He was a good friend to many and will be missed dearly.He is survived by his children, Jesse (Jill) McIntosh of Bagley, Jed (Ashley) McIntosh of Moorhead, MN, and Jada Schomberg-Tollefson (Gary Sauceda) of Ipswich, SD. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Justin, Kailee, Dylan, Alysha, Jacob and Natalie; his mother, Orvilla McIntosh of Pierpont, SD; one sister, Lori (Darrel) VanderVorst and three brothers, Scot, Ross (Pennie) and Clancy (Tera) and by many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence McIntosh and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
