Obituary

Clifford Noyes, born on January 2, 1948, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. James lived a life defined by hard work, service, ingenuity, and an unwavering devotion to his family and community. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, July 9th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine. Interment will be in Saron Lutheran Cemetery, rural Erskine, at a later date. Military honors will be provided by the National Guard Honors Team. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Erskine and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.

Born to Clifford and Ursula Noyes, James proudly served his country in the Minnesota National Guard from 1966 to 1974. In 1974, he and his family made Erskine, Minnesota their home where they established deep roots and formed many lifelong friendships.

On April 23, 1971, James married the love of his life, Ranona. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family, raising three sons: Jeremy James (Susan), Jason Clifford (Elena), and Jonathan Curtis (Krystal).

Throughout his life, James was known for his remarkable work ethic, determination, and willingness to help others. He owned and operated Jack N Jill Grocery Stores before turning his attention to farming. He farmed his own land while also lending a helping hand to neighboring farmers whenever they need assistance. Later, he operated Minnesota Dehydrated Vegetables until his retirement. No matter the task, James believed in doing things the right way and took great pride in a job well done.

James found great joy in spending time in his shop, where he was always building, creating, or finding a better way to solve a problem. He had a natural gift for designing solutions and was happiest when working with his hands. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, traveling in his RV, and riding motorcycles. Whether relaxing on the water, exploring the open road, or enjoying the freedom of a motorcycle ride, he treasured life’s simple pleasures and the time spent with family and friends.

Above all, James was devoted to his family. He took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow and was always ready to share his wisdom, lend a helping hand, or simply enjoy time together. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished for generations.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ursula and Clifford Noyes, and his sister, Cathi.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 55 years, Ranona; his sons, his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Collin, Kristofer, Neanilla, Isabella, Owen, Axel, Abel, and Elijah; his sister, Carolyn; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors.

James will be remembered as a hardworking man with a big heart, quiet strength, and an inventive mind. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, and his honesty, generosity, and dedication touched the lives of countless people. His family will forever cherish the lessons he taught, the example he set, and the unconditional love he shared.

Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the many lives he influenced. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
