Jane Hole

Jane Hole, age 85, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 2nd, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7th, at the United Methodist Church in Erskine with the Rev. Michelle Miller officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Erskine, in the spring. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Mary Jane Fealy Hole was born on April 9, 1936, in Erskine, Minnesota to parents Judd and Rose (Payment) Fealy. She grew up in Erskine and graduated from Erskine High School in 1955. Following high school, Jane worked at Leon and Edie’s Café in Erskine.

Jane was united in marriage to Douglas Owen Hole on June 25, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. After their marriage, they lived in Sacramento, California while Doug was in the Air Force. After Doug’s discharge, they moved to St. Paul and, later, Coon Rapids. During this time, Jane did in-home daycare and they began dabbling in furniture upholstery.

Jane and family returned to Erskine and continued with their upholstery business in their home. Then, in 1986, they moved the business to downtown Erskine where it was known as D & J Upholstery. They owned and operated the business until 2001 when they sold the business and retired. Doug passed away September 10, 2009.

Jane was a member of the United Methodist Church in Erskine where she was active for much of her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, gardening, and watching birds and nature.

Jane passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine at the age of 85 years.

Survivors include two children, Dan (Brenda) Hole of Erskine, MN, and Julie Lene (Darrell Larson) of Fertile, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Brandon (Krystal) Tranby & their daughter, Quinn; Leah (Ambrose) Anderson & their children, Kiersten and Ashton; Larissa Hole (Jason Awender) & their children, Braylen and Addison; Teanna Hole (Bryan Halstad) and their son, Wesson; Zack Lene (Jessica Schacher), and Brylie Lene (Zach Farrell).

Also surviving are siblings, Delores Syverson of Fosston, MN, Duane (Sharon) Fealy of Halstad, MN, and Elaine (Warren) Ohren of Fosston; and brother-in-law, Lee Schaller of IL. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug of 49 years; son, Jeff Hole; sister, Betty Schaller; and brother-in-law, Floyd Syverson.
