Jeff Ostgarden

Jeff Ostgarden, age 63, of Fosston, MN passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday (April 24th) at Essentia Hospital in Fosston.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (April 30th) at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. John Dalen officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery, Fosston. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com. Jeffrey Lee Ostgarden was born on April 18, 1950 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Clarence and Lois (Juvrud) Ostgarden. He was baptized and confirmed at Kingo Lutheran Church. He grew up in Fosston and attended Fosston Schools, graduating in 1968. Jeff loved to spend time with his family, especially for birthday get-togethers. He loved to play bingo and cards with friends. Also, Jeff enjoyed shooting pool and snooker with friends on a pool league for a few years. He was also an avid sports fan, never missing a Twins game or Vikings game on tv and knew all the names of the players. Aaron took him to the Dome for a Twins game and for his 60th birthday, Carol, Jill and Ryan took him to the new Target Field. It was a fun and special trip for him. Jeff lived most of his life in Fosston and was currently residing at Cornerstone Residence in Fosston where he has lived the past few years. Survivors include his parents, Clarence and Lois Ostgarden of Fosston; two sisters, Gail (Glenn) Holweger of Grand Forks, ND, and Carol (Larry) Lenes of Fosston; nephews, Ryan (Spring) Holweger of Grand Forks, ND, Justin (Twyla) Holweger of Grand Forks, ND, and Aaron (Holly) Lenes of Fosston, Christopher Smith of California; one niece, Jill Halvorson of Rogers, MN; grand nieces and nephews, Jordan, Allan, and Ethan Holland, Ava Llewellyn, Sofia Halvorson, and Clayton and Stella Lenes. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and one sister, Joanne Smith. Honorary Pallbearers: Jeff's friends at Cornerstone ResidenceActive Pallbearers: Glenn Holweger, Ryan Holweger, Justin Holweger, Larry Lenes, Aaron Lenes, and Jon Saari.
