Keith Gunderson, age 85, of Erskine, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (July 4th) at his home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (July 10th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen and Rev. Dr. Gerald White officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, rural Erskine. A time of gathering in remembrance of Keith will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (July 9th) at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine and messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Keith W. Gunderson was born on September 24, 1927 in Erskine, Minnesota to parents Oscar and Laura (Larson) Gunderson. He grew up in Erskine and graduated from Erskine High School in 1945. Following high school, he received advanced accounting studies through LaSalle University and was a Certified Public Accountant. Keith was employed by the Erskine Manufacturing Company and the Erskine Sales Corporation from 1950 to 1955. From 1956 to 1961, he was employed by Holcomb Accounting, CPA's in Crookston. In 1963, he opened a Public Accounting and Insurance office in Erskine until 1976. He then went into the Erskine Agency, Inc., located in the American State Bank in Erskine. He retired in 1982.Keith was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as Trustee for several years and also as Treasurer. He was a Charter Member of the Erskine Lion's Club, was a member of the Erskine Commercial Club, served on the Board of the Erskine Community Housing, Inc., and was a Charter Member of the Bemidji State University Legacy Society. Keith was also the City Clerk in Erskine for eight years.Keith passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home in Erskine at the age of 85 years.Survivors include a niece and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Gerald "Toppy" Gunderson.
