Kenneth John Rustad, age 65, of Lynnville, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 17th at his home following an illness. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10th at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Kenneth John Rustad was born March 22, 1951 in Jamestown, North Dakota to parents Loren and Margaret (Gulmon) Rustad. He was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sanborn, ND. In 1956 his family moved to Fosston, Minnesota. He was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. He attended school in Fosston, graduating with the class of 1969.Ken enlisted in the Navy in 1971, and was trained for service on our country's nuclear submarines. He served his country for seven years before receiving his honorable discharge in 1978. He used the training he received in the Navy to work in the nuclear power industry around the world. As Operations Manager, he helped establish new power plants for major construction companies.Ken was married to Linda Olson from Winger, MN, in 1971. From this marriage were born two beautiful girls, Shawna Marie, and Lisa Danielle. In 1997, Ken married Vickie Jones, with whom he spent the remainder of his time on earth. She lovingly cared for him during his illness.Survivors include his wife, Vickie of Lynnville TN; his daughters, Shawna (Anthony) Belsito of Richland, WA, and Lisa Peck of Beede, AR; two grandchildren, Talan Flood and Caelyn Peck; his mother, Margaret Rustad of Fosston, MN; his sisters, Christine (Mark) Maassel of Valparaiso, IN, Laurie (Sean) McKnight of Fosston; Meg (Ron) Lezama of Plymouth, MN; Melissa (Ron) Kennedy of Fosston, and Joan (Roy) Dufault of Fosston; His brothers, Jon (Renee) Rustad of Fosston, and Eric (Michele) Rustad of Superior, WI; one uncle, Robert Klein, of Valley City, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Loren Rustad, and nephews Shannon, Jacob and Bryce Kennedy; and great-nephew Augustus Rustad.Blessed be his memory.
