Leif "Eric" Erickson, age 47, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 13th as the result of a motorcycle accident near Lengby, MN. Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 19th at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. A private family prayer service will be held on Thursday at 5:30 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Erskine followed by a public visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine. Interment of cremains will be at Gosen Lutheran Cemetery at a later date, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Erskine is in charge of the arrangements. Eric was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed and attended Erskine High School where he graduated in 1984.Eric was passionate about the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and had a special nickname for each of them, and they gave him the nickname "Uncie". He especially enjoyed his hunting trips to Montana with his friends. Eric was always there when someone needed him.Eric passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the age of 47 years as the result of a motorcycle accident.Eric is survived by his parents, and eight sisters: Paula (James) Caldwell of New Hope, MN, Eldora (Bryan) Paradis of Erskine, MN, Karlene (Larry) Lightfoot of Rich Hill, MO, Lesly (Lee) Tradewell of Erskine, MN, Ardis (Tal) Lucken of Bemidji, MN, Melisa (Erik) Nymann of Plummer, MN, Barb (Torrey) Erickson of Bemidji, MN, and Wendy (Joe) Smeby of Erskine, MN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen and Sam; his grandparents, Albert and Alma Erickson and Leslie and Eldora Varty; and one brother-in-law, Milton (Pete) Kolden.Eric will be remembered for his loving heart, contagious smile, sense of humor, and compassion for his family and many friends.God Bless the memory of Eric Erickson
