LeRoy Jopp, age 65, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Saturday (September 6th) at First Care Hospital in Fosston. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (September 12th) at the McIntosh Community Center in McIntosh. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home, serving McIntosh.Leroy Gustav Jopp was born June 6, 1943 in Watertown, Minnesota to George Martin Jopp and Marcella Emile Dressel. He graduated high school 1963. After high school he worked at Tonka Toys in Watertown. He married Lois Lorena Lobitz in August 24, 1968 in Watertown, Minnesota;. In the 70's, Leroy went to school to be a baker which he did for a few years until he started to travel around Minnesota and he finally ended up in McIntosh at Riverside Board and Lodge on January 31, 1991LeRoy was a man about town! You could always see LeRoy walking around town greeting people, doing odd jobs, and trying his best to get a diet coke, cigarettes, or money. LeRoy was always interested in what people were doing. He had a good memory for names and would often remember months later, recalling the last topic of conversation they talked about. LeRoy died at First Care Medical Center in Fosston, Minnesota on September 6th at the age of 65 years. He is survived by daughters: Jennifer (Clayton) Quast of Brainerd , Minnesota, Rebecca (Jerry) VonBerge of Byron , Minnesota, brother Robert "Bob" (Kathleen) Jopp of Delano, Minnesota and sister Katherine [Leon ] Habisch of Montrose, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Marcella and brothers Warren and Allan.
