Lorraine was united in marriage to Sherman Ray Jerome Rustad on November 27, 1949, in Erskine. They lived for a short time with Sherman’s parents before purchasing the home farm north of McIntosh in Lessor Township. It was here that she raised their family and helped with work on the farm.

She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was President of the ladies’ aide for many years. She had a gift for studying scripture and combining scripture with music. She loved to sing and took voice lessons later in her life. She also loved gardening.
