Marilyn Anderson, age 95, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, August 15th, at Cornerstone Living in Fosston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21st, at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Lengby, MN with the Rev. John Ragan officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Lake Cemetery, rural Fosston. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Marilyn Eloise Beckstrom was born on December 3, 1929, in Fosston, Minnesota to parents William and Matilda (Hoff) Beckstrom. She grew up in Fosston and graduated from Fosston High School in 1947.
She was united in marriage to Robert Anderson on March 21, 1948. After their marriage, they lived in Minneapolis, Crookston and then settled at home east of Fosston. In addition to raising her family, Marilyn worked for several years at the Hartz Store in Lengby. They moved into Fosston in 2000, and Robert passed away on January 16, 2017. After his passing, she continued to live in her home in Fosston. After a couple of years, she relocated to Cornerstone Assisted Living.
Marilyn was a life-long member of Poplar Lake Lutheran Church and active in the church Women of Life group. She loved flowers, gardening, baking, and family get-togethers. Spending time with her family were her favorite times. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include five children, Steve (Michelle) of Birchwood, WI, Dan (Renee) of Fosston, Leslie (Theresa) of Fosston, Marlene (Tim) Johnson of Lengby, and Randall (Marti) of Fosston; 15 grandchildren, Dwight Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Kaci Anderson, Sean (Kristine) Anderson, Morgan Anderson, Sam Anderson, Reid (Melissa) Anderson, Liz (William) Glasgow, Brian (Heather) Potack, Steve (Rochelle) Anderson Jr., Larissa Hardin, Tanya Lanctot (fiancé, Will), Carrie (Ben) Herberg, Heath (Emily) Lanctot, and Nathan (Adriana) Lanctot; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elsie Gullekson of Fertile, MN; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; brother, Alton Beckstrom; sister, Mavis Reib; and an infant grandchild.
