Michael Lynch, age 77, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Friday, February 24th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fosston with Father JohnMelkies Suvakeen presiding. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday (July 15th) at the church. Michael Brian Lynch was born on October 8, 1945, to Joseph and LaVerne (Johnson) Lynch. He was the oldest of four children. He lived on his family’s farm in Chaska, Minnesota and graduated from Guardian Angels High School in 1964.
He met and married his first wife, Katherine “Kit” Wallace in 1977. Kit passed away in 1982. Mike worked for Napa Auto in St. Louis Park, Minnesota for over 30 years.
He met and married Patricia “Pat” Swenson in 1990 and became a dad to her daughter, Jill, and young son, Chad. Soon after, Mike became grandpa to three wonderful grandchildren, Raechel, Marshal and Dillon, and they became the apple of his eye. He couldn’t have been a better or more loved grandpa. Sadly, on Labor Day 2022, Mike lost his second wife, Pat.
On February 24, 2023, Mike passed on from this life and on to the arms of his Savior.
He is survived by his son, Chad, of Fosston; grandchildren, Raechel, Marshal and Dillon; his brothers, Joe and Tom; niece and nephews, Kelly, David and Ryan; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Kit; second wife, Pat; daughter, Jill; and sister, Patty.
Mike was a joy to know and will be sorely missed. He was a great brother, an incredible uncle, cherished grandpa, a natural at being a dad, and a blessing to all he knew.
