At that time she started taking jobs outside the home, cooking in many of the area cafes, sewing for OMC in Oklee, and making wedding cakes for people. She finally landed a job as head cook at Mac Manor Nursing Home where she worked for 17 years. Bothe Harry and Olive retired in their early 70's and rented out the farm.
