Raymond Roy, age 82, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27th, at Cornerstone Living in Fosston. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Raymond David Roy was born October 1, 1943 in Crookston, MN to parents David and Alma (Gregoire) Roy. He grew up on the family farm North of Mentor, MN where he attended school and graduated in 1961.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marilyn Meyer on August 3, 1963 at the Catholic church in Fosston, MN. They lived in Fertile, Erskine, Crookston, Fosston, and Lengby before making their home outside of Fosston.

Raymond worked for various farmers, implement dealerships, and the Fosston NAPA store before retiring. He also drove truck for the sugar beet harvest in Crookston for many years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, bird watching, watching sports, snowmobiling, road trips, and a good campfire with family and friends. He always had a project in work in the house or in the yard. When he wasn’t working on his own projects, he would help others with remodeling, baling hay, or any side project for others.

On Monday April 27, 2026 Raymond passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years at Cornerstone Residence of Fosston with his family by his side.

Raymond is survived by his five children, Brian (Linda) of Wheatland, ND, Randy (Elizabeth) of Jamestown, ND, Jenifer (Tim) Klava of Otsego, MN, Dean (Anita) of McIntosh, MN, and Steve (Heidi) of Beltrami, MN. Fifteen grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Hulne, Joshua (Christine) Roy, Kristina (Matt) Zinter, Tiffany (Eric) Biermaier, Rebecka (Zach) Wohl, Lindsey (Allen) Graff, Brantly (Carrie) Gram, Rusty (Alex) Roy, Tyler (Sasona) Klava, Brandon Roy, Matthew Klava, Mckenzie Roy, Dylan Roy, Megan (Vincent) Klava, Kalli Roy and twenty-six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his bride of over 50 years, father-in-law Hartman Meyer, and mother-in-law Edna Meyer Munter.
