Richard “Dik” Christopherson, age 68, of Trail, MN, passed away on Thursday, December 9th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. A celebration of Dik’s life will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6th at the Trail’s End Bar in Trail, MN. Richard Obert Christopherson was born on June 29, 1953, in Brainerd, Minnesota to parents Gayle and Evelyn Brand Christopherson. He grew up in Pine Center and graduated from Brainerd High School. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
Richard (Dik) married Jane L. Koenig on September 14, 1996, in Pine Center. They both loved animals and especially working with their horses. Dik also enjoyed driving his old Allis-Chalmers tractor when putting up hay. They lived in Pine Center until moving to Trail, Minnesota in 2013.
Dik worked for the B.N. Railroad for 13 years. He was a Blackjack dealer at the Grand Casino Mille Lacs; a truck driver for various companies; he worked at the 7 Clans Casino in Thief River Falls, Minnesota as a Blackjack dealer until the shutdown during Covid.
Dik passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Jane; sisters, Janice Niblett of Brainerd, Ila MacFarland of Brainerd, and Judy (Tom) Ebinger of Brainerd; brothers, Ronald of Georgia, Melvin (Kim) of Crosby, MN, and Gary (Gwen) of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Julie.
