WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTThe visitation that was scheduled for Robert Stine tonight has been cancelled due to the weather. The funeral service will go on as scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon.Robert Stine, age 67, of Trail, MN, passed away on Saturday (November 23rd) at his home surrounded by his family. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday (December 5th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Timothy Lundeen officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Sand Valley Cemetery in Trail. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Wednesday (December 4th) at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. Military honors will be provided by the Gonvick American Legion and the National Guard Honors Team. Messages of condolence may be sent at carlinhoialmen.com.Robert Bruce Stine was born on December 4, 1945 in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Lester and Bernice (Olson) Stine. He spent his first eleven years on a farm near Fertile and then moved with his family to Crookston, Minnesota. Bob worked for the State of Minnesota before starting with the Polk County Highway Department. He was united in marriage to Kathryn "Kittie" Johnson on December 31, 1991. They lived in Fosston from 1974 until 1976 and then moved to Trail where they have since resided. Bob worked for Polk County until 1994 and then went on his own road grading for many area Townships. He was known as a hard worker and would lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved hunting and being outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Kittie of Trail, MN; one daughter, Dawn (Steve) Thorson of Leonard, MN; three sons, Tracey (Angie) Stine of Iron River, MI, Trapper Stine of Trail, and Dallas Stine of Trail; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; four sisters, Iris (Kenny) Moen of Fertile, MN, Bonnie (Dennis) Tollerud of Crookston, MN, Julie (Marvin) Halstad of Fertile, MN, and Sandy (Dale) Cormican of Maple Lake, MN; sister-in-law, Della Stine of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, DeEtte "Dee" Tinkler; two brothers, Gene and Leslie; sister-in-law, Jean Stine; and brother-in-law, Oris Moen.Honorary Pallbearers: All of Robert's friends.
