Ronald Sogla, age 56, of rural Trail, MN, passed away on Monday (July 23rd) near his home as a result of injuries he sustained in a farm related accident. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 28th) at Vernes Lutheran Church of rural McIntosh, MN with the Rev. Aage Carlsen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston.Ronald John Sogla was born on March 20, 1951 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Arnold Palmer and Virgil Virginia (Swenningson) Sogla. He grew up on the home farm in rural Trail and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1969. Following high school, Ron went into partnership on the farm with his father, Arnold. He was currently farming with his brother, Steve. Ron enjoyed going to breakfast club in Oklee in the mornings. He also enjoyed his new tractor and riding his four-wheeler in the tamarack swamp near his home.Survivors include two sisters, Arlene Tobel of Monticello, MN, and Judy (Dennis) Kirby of Trail, MN; two brothers, David (Esther) Sogla of Zimmerman, MN, and Steve (Carol) Sogla of Trail, MN; nieces and nephews, Sheli Graff and son, Skyler of Denver, CO; Leann (Troy) Neyhart and son, August of Harris, MN; Stephanie (Gary) Papineau and daughter, Christina of Cottage Grove, MN; Susan (Ron) Bertram and children, Kyle and Khloe of Eagan, MN; Jimmy Sogla, his wife and son of the Twin Cities; Bobby Sogla of the Twin Cities; and Keith (Kelly) Sogla and son, Steven of Thief River Falls, MN. Other relatives also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents.Honorary Pallbearers will be Karsten Syverson, Clay Syverson and Norris SyversonActive Pallbearers will be Clifton Melby, Ambrose Beaudoin, John Lerohl, Roy Rystad, Tom Radniecki, and Larry Olson.
