Rosella “Rosie” Cormican, age 80, of Fosston, MN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10th, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20th, at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Peter Lurvey officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com.
She was born on December 13, 1945, the daughter of Walter and Barbra Wilhelmi. Rosie was known for her more than 30 years of dedicated and hardworking service as a registered nurse. Though she stood just 4’11”, she had a strong presence and could easily put a six-foot-tall man in his place. She was strong, independent, and, most importantly, deeply family-oriented. One of her favorite hobbies was scrapbooking, as she loved preserving memories and keeping reminders of her family close to her heart.
Rosie met her husband, James Cormican, when she was just 17 and he was 18. They shared 64 wonderful years together and were married for 61 years. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and memories that will never be forgotten.
Rosella is survived by her loving husband, James Cormican; her siblings, Rita Schmisek, Janet Fossen, Barb Leonard, Theresa Finnie, Mary Sobolik, Dick Wilhelmi, Donna Anglebrandt, and Karen Bergquist; her sons, James Cormican and Steve Cormican; her grandsons, Michael Cormican and Jacob Cormican; and her great-grandson, Bryson Cormican.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Ronald “Ronnie” Cormican, and her parents, Walter and Barbra Wilhelmi.
Rosie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
