Roxine Hoiland, age 54, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Saturday, October 15th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with Pastor Mark Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Cemetery, Lengby, MN. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday (28th) at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston. Roxine Elizabeth Granly was born on May 18, 1968, in Cando, North Dakota to parents Vernon and Charolett (Hillestad) Granly. She grew up grew up in Lengby and graduated from Fosston High School in 1986. After high school, she attended Thief River Falls Technical College and finished with an associate degree.
She was married to the love of her life, Michael Hoiland, on June 4, 1988. They had four children and nine grandchildren.
Roxi loved to sing and dance with her grandkids; and loved Halloween and Christmas (these were her favorite holidays). Merissa and mom would make Thanksgiving dinner and while making Thanksgiving dinner, the two of them would listen to music.
Mom loved to go for walks and being with her family was #1. Even if it was going to the beach grabbing lunch at the A&W after, mom loved being together. Mom also loved watching us girls go to the fair and riding rides. She loved seeing our smiles and hearing our laughs! Our family trips to Colorado and the Cities, those moments mom loved. Roxie dearly loved being a mom and grandma.
Roxi passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo at the age of 54 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Mike, of Erskine, MN; her children, Aimy (Jacob) Nepean of Bagley, MN, Ashley (Ron) Hoiland of Clearbrook, MN, Kayla (Jake) Altepeter of Thief River Falls, MN, and Merissa (Trevor Hoaas) of Grand Forks, ND, and Jessa Hoiland; and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Pamela (Kevin Tooley) of Colorado, Kristi Hruby of Lengby, and Maggie (Brian) Powell of Tucson, AZ. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Granly; and sister, Melanie Uebe.
