Shirley Ann Parsley, 73 of Bemidji, MN and formerly from Oklee, MN passed away on Wednesday, May 23rd at the Neilson Place in Bemidji. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25th at 2:00 PM at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston, MN with Rev. Margaret Jacobus officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the funeral home, and interment will be in Dodge Cemetery in Pinewood, MN. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of the arrangements. Messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinhoialmen.com.Shirley Ann Parsley, the youngest of four daughters of Edwin and Justine (Messelt) Iverson was born June 24, 1938 in Bagley, Minnesota. Shirley attended school while living with her sister in California and graduated from high school in McIntosh, Minnesota.On October 13, 1956, in Crookston, Minnesota Shirley was married to Roy Parsley. They moved to Racine, Wisconsin where she worked for Hamilton Beach and Northwest Barrel Company. In 1978, they moved to Lengby, Minnesota, where she worked at the Bluegill Café and MDV in Fosston, Minnesota until she retired in 1999. In 2001, they moved to Oklee, Minnesota where she spent her time going to rummage sales, doing puzzle books, canning, cooking and visiting with friends and family.On Wednesday, May 23, 2012 Shirley passed away at the Neilson Place in Bemidji, Minnesota at the age of 73 years.She is survived by her husband, Roy, of Bemidji, sons, Steve (Sandra) of Audubon, MN, LeRoy (Cynthia) of Racine, WI and daughter Michelle (Angela) Parsley of Bemidji, MN; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Robert and three sisters, Myrtle, Eleanor and Marilyn.
