Susan Wynne, age 62, of rural Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 3rd, at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12th, at the United Methodist Church in Fosston with the Rev. Michelle Miller officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Susan Kay (Handyside) Wynne was born on March 11, 1959 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Harry Ellis and Hilda Lucille (Rud) Handyside. She grew up in Island Lake Township, south of Lengby, and graduated from Fosston High School in 1977.
Susan was united in marriage to Michael Wynne on April 9, 2005 and lived for many years in Heier Township, south of town. They had two children, Shawn and Brian.
Susan worked as a bartender and short-order cook at several places, including the Homestead in Lengby and at the Flowing Well near Beaulieu. She also worked in housekeeping for Essentia Health in Fosston for many years.
Susan liked fishing and hunting (and was known as a die-hard deer hunter). She was proud of her cooking and enjoyed cooking for family and friends through the years. She loved all animals and was especially fond of her three dogs. She and Mike raised Labrador retrievers for a few years. Most of all, Susan enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Michael, of Fosston; two sons, Shawn (Renee) and Brian (Ellen), all of Duluth, MN; step-mother, Cyndi Handyside of Crookston, MN; brother, Larry (Lissa) Handyside of Fosston; sisters, Linda (Jerome) Klinkhammer of Lengby, Sharon Storrusten of Fosston, and Mary (Steve) Sovick of Fosston. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Handyside; an infant sibling; and brother-in-law, Doug Storrusten.
