Thomas Jones

Thomas Jones, age 58, of Winger, MN, passed away on Monday, October 10th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19th, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Fosston with the Rev. Don Edlund officiating. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Thomas Charles Jones was born on July 20, 1964, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to parents Donald and Jeanine (Bursheim) Jones. He grew up in Winger, attended the Winger school and McIntosh High School. At the age of 17, he entered the Army National Guard. He lived in Washington State, returned to the area, living in Lengby, and then relocated to Oklahoma.

Tom was united in marriage to Mary Beth Bush on March 30, 1995. After their marriage, they lived in Oklahoma and then traveled around the country while Tom was a Project Supervisor doing industrial painting of rail cars. He was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2022. They moved back home to Winger in February of 2022 to spend his final months of life and be close to family. Tom loved fishing, so he and Mary Beth bought a small boat and were able to spend time on the lake together this past summer.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth of Winger; his mother, Jeanine (Robert) Perrault of Winger; daughter, Angel (Shawn) Hedlund of McIntosh; son, Brady (Anita) Jones of Bemidji, MN; stepson, Steven Sullivan of Richfield, ID; grandchildren, Destiny, Dakota, Divinity, and Alexander Hedlund; two sisters, Susan Jones (Mark Morvig) of Mentor, MN, and Stephanie Jones (Stephanie Devine) of Duluth, MN; and nephew, Dan Jones of Erhard, MN.

p>He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Jones; brother, Tim Jones; sister, Wendy Jones; stepson, James Sullivan; and nephew, Sterling Devine.
