Oachs-Jahn

Wanda Oachs-Jahn, age 82, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 28th, at Cornerstone Living in Fosston. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 12th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 14827 Prairie Drive, Little Falls, MN 56345. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the Kingdom Hall. Interment will be in Shell City Cemetery, rural Wadena, MN at a later date. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Fosston and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com. Memorial donations are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
She was born Wanda Esmeralda Miller on April 25, 1943, in West Manchester, Ohio to parents Gerald and Lois (Lincoln) Miller. She grew up in several States, primarily in Ohio and Minnesota. Wanda met her future husband, Gary Oachs, through a family acquaintance.
Wanda and Gary were married on September 19, 1964, in Carlton, Minnesota. To this union, three children were born, Tonya, Tony, and Terri. They lived in Barnum, Minnesota until 1981 when they relocated to Little Falls, Minnesota. They moved to Sunset, Texas in 1985 where they owned and operated a janitorial business. Gary passed away in Sunset in 2005.
She continued to live in Texas until 2009 when she married Paul Jahn. Wanda and Paul lived in Beltrami, Minnesota until their health began to decline. At that time, they moved to Cornerstone in Fosston. Paul passed away on November 29, 2020. Wanda lived out the remainder of her life in Cornerstone Living.
Wanda was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on March 19, 1972, and was active in her faith until her dementia became too advanced.
Survivors include her three children, Tonya Peterson of Farmington, MN, Tony (Marilyn) Oachs of Sunset, TX, and Terri Oachs (Troy) of Cologne, MN; six grandchildren, Zachary and Chloe Peterson, and Brian, Steven, Antonia and Keeley Oachs; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Tunheim of Ohio and Eunice (Dan) Moates of Burnsville, MN; one brother, Loyal Miller of Sunset, TX. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Gary Oachs and Paul Jahn; infant grandson, Gary Oachs; brother, Gene Miller; and son-in-law, Mark Peterson.
