Obituary

Carol Anne Reese, age 77, of McIntosh, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 5th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9th, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh with the Rev. Gordon Syverson officiating. Interment will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The funeral service is open to the public. Covid protocol will be observed including mask use and social distancing. Carol Anne Reese was born on April 29, 1943 in Fosston, Minnesota to parents Harto and Anne (Grundyson) Reese. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1961. Following high school, she attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and graduated as a Registered Nurse. Carol Anne was a nurse in the Twin Cities and taught at the University and at Abbott Northwestern (teaching Psychiatric Nursing). Carol Anne moved back to her roots in McIntosh as her mother's health failed to help care for her. After her mother's passing, she remained at her home place in McIntosh. She worked at Strom Drug in McIntosh and Prairie Pet Clinic in Fosston. She retired in 2017. She was a dedicated member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she kept the candles filled for many years. Carol Anne was musically talented, singing at many church functions throughout the years in the area and at Sand Hill Lutheran Church.Carol Anne was a tremendous cook and especially enjoyed cooking Holiday meals for her family and friends. Her specialty was making lutefisk on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Carol Anne was also a well-known animal lover. She truly loved all animals but was especially fond of cats. She enjoyed reading and traveling and was able to tour most of Europe parts of China during her life. As her parents owned and operated Reese Funeral Home in McIntosh for many years, Carol Anne kept her funeral home family tradition alive by assisting with the closing of many of her family and close friends caskets. Carol Anne will be remembered as a very caring person and a loyal servant. She will be dearly missed.Survivors include several cousins and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents.
