Jean Jacobsen

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE INTERMENT SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO 4:00 P.M.Jean Carol (Rotness) Jacobsen, age 81, formerly of Fosston, Minnesota, left her earthly home on December 14, 2020.Jean was born in Fosston, Minnesota on October 6, 1939 to the late John Rotness and Ida (Hansen) Rotness. The eighth of nine children, Jean grew up on the family homestead in Fosston, Minnesota and graduated from Fosston High School in 1957. She is preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, her three sisters, and her late husband Leslie L. Jacobsen. Les and Jean were married June 1, 1974, and had two sons, Jason (Jennifer) Jacobsen, Carroll, Ohio; Jarod (Cristie) Jacobsen, Dilworth, Minnesota; grandchildren Isaac, Ian, Zoe, and Gabriel Jacobsen. Jean leaves behind her sister, Geraldine (Rotness) Hove, Fosston, Minnesota, many brothers-in-laws, many sisters-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Jean loved her family and spending holidays, especially Christmas, with her loved ones. She was an avid gardener and loved all her flowers, especially tulips. Music and singing, cats, volunteering at her church, and collecting teacups were some of her other passions.A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday December 18, 2020 at Carlin Family Funeral Service, Fosston, Minnesota. The gravesite service will be held immediately following the funeral at Kingo Cemetery, Fosston, Minnesota. The public is invited to attend the gravesite service. Masks are required.
